What Do Our Classes Look Like?

April 30, 2024

We get lots of questions regarding the way our classes run and function. Here at Twin Falls Training Center we put a lot of time and energy into maintaining class structure while also ensuring athlete skill progression. By providing a structured lesson plan for each class, we ensure that athletes are hitting milestones in their gymnastics skills and never missing fundamentals building blocks to their gymnastics development.

Every class begins with a cardio based warm up to help get athletes moving, this typically involves a sequence of jumps on our 30ft long brand new Tumbl Trak trampoline. Following this we move to a stretch where we focus on introducing correct terminology to our stretching movements in gymnastics such as pike and straddle shapes. After this we begin our event training portion of the class which is roughly ¾ of every class. We do not believe in waiting around in lines so we utilize a station method. This allows each athlete to take the time to focus on their individual task/station for 1-2mins then rotate to the next station. This method ensures that athletes are never waiting around for a turn and even if a coach is busy helping another student all athletes have a goal to be working on independently.

Each class will typically visit 2-3 events depending on the class size. We value small class sizes and no classes have more than 10 students. Preschool classes are a smaller class size at 6-8 students depending on age.

We also end classes with a special sticker! This encourages our younger athletes to get shoes and socks on as they often do not want to leave due to all the fun they are having! We find it to be a fun and quick way to remind our athletes that every day their hard work deserves a reward!

We hope this blog will help potential and current customers have a better understanding about how and why we run our classes in the manner we do. Substantial time and energy goes into ensuring every athlete in our facility has the experience with gymnastics they are hoping for!
